About

About the SUEP initiative

SUEP (Southampton University Electric Propulsion), associated with SUSF (Southampton University Space Flight) Society, was the first student team to test-fire a Hall-effect thruster in the UK. Our first Hall-effect thruster (Io-1) was tested in the University of Southampton's David Fearne Electric Propulsion Laboratory. We are working on many other interesting projects, so keep an eye for further updates! If spacecraft engineering and experimental development of new thruster technologies sounds interesting, consider joining or at least checking us out. Our ambitions are to make electric propulsion more accessible to students and pursue innovative projects that will teach and test new technologies.
